Well, here we are, that time of year again. I've known Lisa and Andy for quite sometime, and this past weekend, I had the priveledge of photographing them along with some of her extended family. I love shooting up on the campus of ACU, and the lawn in front of the Administration Building is perfect early in the morning. They could not have had a better selection of colors in their attire, it photographed just beautifully. This was such a wonderful family mini session downtown at Everman Park. You might think I'm crazy when I ask if 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning is too early for you to meet me for a session...well, this is why! The lighting was beautiful and the temperature was wonderful:) Crystal couldn't have planned the outfits any better, it was just perfect. And aren't we just crazy about this little man's blue eyes!

Holly- Abilene Trash the Dress Photographer

So there are several definitions of "trashing your dress" when it comes to fun bridal shoots. You can go places in your dress that you might not go before the wedding, and just not worry about it getting dirty. Or you can actually "trash" your dress, where there is no going back to what it used to be. For Holly's TTD, we did some fun locations downtown, stood in dirt/mud/weeds/glass/ants, then we ended up at a swimming pool! So we might not have fully "trashed" the dress, but we got some beautiful shots of her in really neat places.

Keeping the fun going that was had at Holly's session, we are having a SPECIAL!!!

Well you wouldn't know it by looking at these, but this sweet little girl had a ruff start to the morning with an upset tummy. She was so great though, and we really got some beautiful shots! These were taken down town at Everman Park...I'm sure you've figured out by now that this is a location that my clients choose frequently:) I always love shooting here, and it is especially perfect for the little kiddos:)

About a year ago, I met Lisa and her boys downtown for a quick mini session. And aparently I had made quite the impression...as in, being 8 months pregnant and trying to find a way to lay on the ground and get that perfect angle:) LOL! I'm sure that was a sight! Fast forward a year, and my these boys are growing up!

It was so wonderful getting to take portraits of this fun family! This is extended family of mine, and growing up we saw each other every few years (or more:) at family reunions. So I am so excited to have had the opportunity to do family pics of family! Just a couple of months ago I met up with JoLynn and her family in San Antonio for some pics, and this time they came up to Abilene to do them with the rest of their family. These were shot downtown at Everman Park (the fountain on 1st). Oh, and don't we love the A&M theme! I'm not partial to any college, but I particularly LOVED JoLynn's dress! I've never seen that before, so fun!

My baby sister got hitched! Last Saturday Rachel and Billy were married at First Baptist Church in downtown Abilene. It was beautiful and perfect. The reception was at the Hunter Welcome Center at ACU, and was an absolute blast! Be sure to scroll down and see the fun that was had in the photobooth!

This was one of the few, as in the 3rd, wedding I've been to in the past 6 years, that I wasn't shooting! It is such a strange feeling...giving up all control and trusting someone else to capture everything (and not a feeling that I intend to practice often:) I was the Matron of Honor and my dad (who shoots weddings with me) was well, giving the bride away, so I didn't have much choice. Here's the awesome part, my brother shot the wedding! Not only did he do a fabulous job capturing things just as I would have, he also put up with me running around in my to-the-ground-formal-dress shooting here and there when I could...I'm sure it was quite a sight. I am so proud of him and so thankful to have had someone to trust while I was fulfilling my sisterly duties. You will most certainly be seeing more of his work around here, as he has agreed to come on and work with us! Here are just a few taken by this sister/brother duo...

Now for the crazy fun stuff...a HUGE shout out to Tifani Smith of Captured Photography! I was able to set up everything for the photobooth, but it would have been hard to man it during the reception. Tifani came and worked the booth for me and did a fantastic job! Here are a few of the fun times that were had there...and yes, those are my three grandmothers!
